Domaine Armand Rousseau

Terroir: Domaine Rousseau owns just over 2 acres of this small Premiere Cru that sits directly in front of the domaine and just outside of the walls of Clos St Jacques.

Vinification: Grapes are meticulously sorted as they arrive in the winery. Following a cool maceration lasting 5-7 days the must travels by gravity into barrel where it will stay for the entire vinification process lasting typically 18-24 months. Each Armand Rousseau wine is blended unfiltered.

Just ten cases of this wine are imported into the U.S. Please consult your local FWS rep for availability.

    Fragrant aromas of rose, cherry, sandalwood and sweet baking spice announce this polished, elegant red, whose intense flavors build nicely to the long finish, with a mineral element coming in on the aftertaste. A touch heavy on grip and oak presence now, but this shows terrific potential. Best from 2021 through 2040.

    Deep red. Dark raspberry, licorice, mint and underbrush on the nose; more soil-driven and less floral than the Lavaux Saint-Jacques. Conveys serious density and sharp definition but comes across as a bit youthfully imploded today. Intense, juicy black raspberry fruit is complicated by a saline quality. Finishes with firm but suave tannins and saliva-inducing lift.
