Terroir: Domaine Christian Moreau Pere et Fils owns a total of just under 10 acres of the famous Vaillon vineyard. With a relatively steep grade the plot has terrific drainage of it's Kimmeridgien clay soil and a south/southeast exposure that provides optimum sunlight throughout the growing season.
Vinification: The winemaking techniques strive to honor the high quality of the terroir, vines and grapes, bringing out the very best in every harvest. A small percentage of the final blend does see a short time in oak barrels.

"The 2010 Chablis Vaillon is gorgeous. Floral aromatics meld into layers of expressive yellow stone fruits and crushed rocks. There is a pure vibrancy to the Vaillon that serves to balance the depth of the fruit. The vivid yet understated style is highly appealing. The Vaillon was aged 60% in steel and 40% in oak. Anticipated maturity: 2012."

"Pale bright yellow. Cool, high-pitched aromas of lime blossom, mint, crushed stone and white pepper, complicated by musky quinine. Concentrated, fresh and fine-grained, at once penetrating and youthfully tight, with intense citrus peel, mineral and white pepper flavors carrying through to the brisk, very long finish. This really leaves the taste buds vibrating. According to Moreau, this grand cru went through its alcoholic and malolactic fermentations in barrel, none new, then went into tank. A terrific performance for these young vines."
