Exhibiting peach, apple and lemon aromas and flavors, this is ripe, focused and harmonious, delivering spice and mineral accents on the lingering aftertaste. Drink now through 2024

Stony aromas of lemon, lime and crushed rock show an element of reduction. Boasts terrific intensity and texture to its concentrated flavors of citrus peel, peppery spices and menthol. Another very saline 2014 with superb breadth and length, but more closed today than the Vaudsir. This wine is ultimately more complex but will require longer aging.

"(50% in tank and 50% in barrel, including 3% new oak): Pale, green-tinged yellow. High-pitched aromas of lime, white pepper and spices. Densely packed and rich but tightly wound and youthfully austere, with classic saline minerality to the citrus peel and pepper flavors. This very fine-grained wine finishes with terrific energy, grip and spicy length."

"Once again there is enough oak present to remark on though not so much to mask the green fruit, pear and abundant Chablis character that includes oyster shell and tidal pool nuances. The big, indeed even burly flavors exhibit excellent richness and mid-palate concentration as well as seriously impressive power and persistence on the slightly rustic finale. This will require patience."

"The 2014 Chablis Grand Cru Valmur about an equal blend of barrel and tank, was showing just a touch of reduction on the nose, though underneath one can detect the uncompromising granite and flinty scents waiting to take center stage. The palate is a little more rounded in texture than the Vaudsir: very good intensity with orange zest and a touch of apricot toward the elegant and poised finish. This is a class act and another great grand cru '14 from winemaker, Fabien Moreau. "
