An opulent style for the vintage, with the telltale cut of 2014 corralling the peach, melon, chalk and wild herb flavors. A flinty, chalky note enters as this plays out on the long aftertaste of lemon and mineral. Best from 2018 through 2027

Sexy scents of peach, fresh apricot and white pepper. At once sappy and sweet in the mouth, conveying lovely finesse to the lightly saline flavors of stone fruits and minerals. Quite concentrated and strong in salty extract, and yet there's something almost delicate about this very long, palate-saturating wine. In comparison, the Valmur is more structured and masculine in style.

"Chablis costs way less than other Burgundy grands crus, and this one shows spicy lime aromas and an intense salty minerality."

"Bright, green-tinged yellow. White stone fruits, white pepper, lichee and smoky oak on the rather exotic nose. Then tightly coiled and serious on the palate, with brisk acidity contributing to an impression of youthful austerity. Really impressive inner-mouth tension and spine here; displays terrific limey lift to the stone fruit and crushed rock flavors. A pungent, palate-saturating wine from grapes that appear to have been picked on the early side."

"Firm reduction blocks an evaluation of the nose though there is a lovely sense of vibrancy and freshness to the markedly finer flavors that display even more minerality on the refined, delicate and impressively long and balanced finish that is trimmed in a touch of wood."

"The 2014 Chablis Grand Cru Vaudsir is austere, reserved and introspective on the nose with light marine influence, oyster shell and cockleshells developing in tandem in the glass. The palate is vibrant, crisp and focused, perhaps not quite as "dramatic" as the Blanchots, but poised and "classic" on the bitter lemon-tinged finish. I suspect this will turn into an elegant Vaudsir, just a notch above the 2013. "
