The versatile, affordable, village Chablis from Domaine Christian Moreau Pere et Fils is bright and crisp, with the classic, taut structure and refreshing minerality that define traditional Chablis. This is a Moreau classic!
Vinification: The winemaking techniques strive to honor the high quality of the terroir, vines and grapes, bringing out the very best in every harvest.
All equipment, from the trailers used to transport the grape harvest to the vats themselves, has been carefully selected so that each parcel of land can be worked separately. All harvesting is done exclusively by hand from the Petit Chablis up to the Grands Crus.
The 2011 Chablis is a ripe, yet bone dry Chardonnay with crisp green apple, mineral and a touch of saline.

Lime and grapefruit dominate the generic Moreau 2011 Chablis, yet for all of its refreshing citricity, it is silky-smooth in texture. Inner-mouth freesia perfume and a hint of blueberry add allure while zesty citrus rind bitterness and a dash of salt lend invigoration to a superbly- sustained finish. Enjoy this outstanding exemplar of its ubiquitous appellation not to mention fine value.

The 2011 Chablis is a wonderful introduction to the Moreau wines. Layered and honeyed, the 2011 captures the richness of the year, yet remains relatively light on its feet. Succulent peach, apricot and nectarine notes flesh out on the radiant finish. Slight hints of dryness and greenness emerge over time.

Pale bright yellow. Reduced aromas of pineapple, crushed stone and ginger. Supple and juicy, with classic stone, pepper and fresh herb flavors currently hiding the wine's fruit. Finishes with good breadth and length.
"An elegantly structured wine with refreshing acidity, pear and citrus notes, and tasting unmistakably of the region's mineral aroma and tang. "

"A mix of apple, honey, herb and earth notes highlights this rich white. Balanced, finishing with a touch of smoke."
"Chalky Chablis can be a revelation for wine lovers used to ripe California whites. Moreau's basic bottling is among the very best."

"A slightly riper mix of white and yellow orchard fruit, tidal pool and soft floral aromas gives way to rich but racy and intense medium-bodied flavors that possess a well-detailed and saline-infused finish. This is a lovely villages of harmony and unusual refinement. Well worth considering. "

"Moreaus 2011 Chablis is showing some tightness because of its recent bottling, two weeks before this tasting, but it appears to have more freshness and verve than the 2010. Citrus and white floral notes give the 2011 much of its vibrancy and focus. Anticipated maturity: 2012."
"Bright pale yellow. Tangy pineapple and tangerine on the nose, plus a whiff of peppermint. Juicy and aromatic in the mouth, with a fairly fat impression leavened by menthol and a faint peppery edge. Finishes a bit tart, with a continuing herbal quality"
