Domaine Christian Moreau Pere & Fils

The versatile, affordable, village Chablis from Domaine Christian Moreau Pere et Fils is bright and crisp, with the classic, taut structure and refreshing minerality that define traditional Chablis. This is a Moreau classic!

Vinification: The winemaking techniques strive to honor the high quality of the terroir, vines and grapes, bringing out the very best in every harvest.
All equipment, from the trailers used to transport the grape harvest to the vats themselves, has been carefully selected so that each parcel of land can be worked separately. All harvesting is done exclusively by hand from the Petit Chablis up to the Grands Crus.

"An appealingly fresh nose flirts with mild exoticism with an aromatic array that includes pear, apple, apricot and sea breeze hints. There is lovely vibrancy to the absolutely delicious middle weight flavors that possess fine intensity on the solidly complex and refreshing finish. A quality villages."

"The 2013 Chablis has an engaging mineral-laced nose that seems to possess more vigor than the 2012. The palate is vibrant with crisp citrus fruit, very fine acidity and a sense symmetry on the finish that should see it age with style. Drink 2015-2020. "

"The 2013 Chablis shows gorgeous depth and richness at this level. Peach, apricot pit, spice and honeyed notes flesh out in the glass. Slight elements of reduction are apparent today, but that should not be an issue once the wine goes into bottle."

"A great example of the regions wares, coming from a family with two hundred years and six generations of experience making wine in the area. Stony minerality defines the nose and the palate of this Chardonnay, with crisp green and yellow apple flavors, lemon peel aromas, and acidity that is both refreshing and bracing. Its piquant texture will benefit from a couple of years in the bottle, but is tamable now with grilled vegetables, seafood, or Asian cuisine."

"Musky aromas of lemon, quinine, ginger and white pepper, plus a whiff of exotic fruits. Spicy and nicely concentrated, with some unabsorbed CO2 framing the yellow stone fruit and mango flavors. Still, this seems more exotic than the 2012."
