Terroir: The 5.6 acre Domaine Jacques Prieur parcel of 1er Cru Champ-Pimont sits on the slope overlooking the town of Beaune just west of the village. The vineyard faces due east and produces both red and white wines of superior quality. The soils range from clay based in the lower slopes to mineral rich (iron) gravel soils further up the the slope.
Vinification: Grapes are hand harvested strictly sorted and destemmed. The must will sit on the skins for 24 hours prior to fermentation. The red and white Champ-Pimont both undergo 100% malolactic fermentation and 17 months of aging in oak barrels.

Pale, green-tinged yellow. Tight, pure aromas of lemon, lime, nectarine, and dusty spices. Densely packed and vinous, with powerful citrus and stone fruit flavors given definition and cut by harmonious acidity. Finishes dense, minerally and long, with lovely energy. Prieur made just two barrels from 1.5 hectares of vines owing to the hailstorm.
