Beaune 1er Cru Champ-Pimont Blanc 2015

Domaine Jacques Prieur

Terroir: The 5.6 acre Domaine Jacques Prieur parcel of 1er Cru Champ-Pimont sits on the slope overlooking the town of Beaune just west of the village. The vineyard faces due east and produces both red and white wines of superior quality. The soils range from clay based in the lower slopes to mineral rich (iron) gravel soils further up the the slope.

Vinification: Grapes are hand harvested strictly sorted and destemmed. The must will sit on the skins for 24 hours prior to fermentation. The red and white Champ-Pimont both undergo 100% malolactic fermentation and 17 months of aging in oak barrels.

Enough wood to remark upon surrounds the agreeably fresh aromas of various white orchard fruit and lemon rind along with a hint of wet stone that can also be found on the caressing and naturally sweet flavors that deliver the best complexity and persistence, if only just, of these three Beaune 1ers.
