"(the first of these 2012s to have been bottled, in February of 2014): Full medium red. Ripe redcurrant, licorice and mint on the nose. The creamy red berry flavors show a slightly liqueur-like quality but good lift and a minty nuance as well. Finishes with firm, building tannins."
"The 2012 Beaune 1er Cru Clos de la Feguine (red) has a similar, precocious bouquet cut from a similar cloth to the Clos de Mazeray, with ebullient raspberry and blueberry scents. The palate is medium-bodied with a pleasant grip on the entry, firm tannins and brine-tinged black fruit towards the structured, crisp finish that is imbued with a positive austerity. This is stylish and full of breeding."
