Beaune 1er Cru Greves Blanc 2011

Domaine Jacques Prieur

Terroir: The 4.2 acre Domaine Jacques Prieur parcel of 1er Cru Greves sits on the slope overlooking the town of Beaune just west of the village. The vineyard faces southeast and produces both red and white wines of superior quality. Soils are made up primarily of small pebbles (Greves), sand and clay leading to a wine of great elegance.

Vinification: Grapeas are hand harvested strictly sorted and destemmed. The must will sit on the skins for 23 days prior to racking. The red and white Greves both undergo 100% malolactic fermentation and 16 months of aging in oak barrels.

"A trim version, with apple, lemon and melon flavors that feel a little eclipsed by the crisp structure. Ample sweet oak helps this build to a long, rich finish. Best from 2015 through 2021."

A moderately exotic nose features notes of dried yellow fruit, citrus rind and herbal tea nuances. There is really very good volume and concentration given how young the vines are with a delicious, clean and pleasingly dry finish that offers moderate depth and length.
