Terroir: The large 123 acre vineyard of Clos de Vougeot is one of the most famous terroirs in all of Burgundy. Because of it's vast size, this walled vineyard holds many micro-climates with many grade and soil variations.
Vinification: Grapes are hand harvested, strictly sorted and destemmed. The must will sit on the skins for 24 hours prior to fermentation. The wine ages for 17 months of in oak barrels deep in the cellars of Domaine Jacques Prieur.
This wine has extremely limited availability in both 750ml and 1.5l. Please consult your local FWS rep for availability.

"Impressively rich and dense, with dark plum and sweet fruits signalling opulence. The wine has power and intensity although it never loses acidity of the vintage."

"A red full of macerated cherry, vanilla, sweet spices and mineral, this is both stylish and powerful. Still a bit rigid, but well-proportioned, with grip on the finish."
"Young, ripe, red cherry fruit on the nose- very expressive but not too upfront. Complex palate with damson fruit characters, complex and structured."

"Tasted blind at Fine & Rare Wine's Clos- Vougeot horizontal. Deep purple/garnet in color, this has a superb bouquet that soars from the glass: dark cherries, bergamot, fresh mint and a touch of Vervanne tea. Very complex and very well delineated. the palate has fine, silky tannins, very well defined and fresh, lovely crisp strawberry and red cherry fruit laced with a touch of vanilla courtesy of some judicious new oak. Pert on the finish, good length and superb tension. This is a top class Clos Vougeot. Bravo!"
