Terroir: Domaine Jacques Prieur's 3.7 acre plot of Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru Les Combettes sits with an ideal southeast facing exposure. The soil is primarily of clay and limestone with average draining that leads to highly ripe grapes.
Vinification: Grapes are hand harvested, strictly sorted and destemmed. The must will sit on the skins for 12-14 hours prior to fermentation. The wine ages for a total of 16 months in oak barrels deep in the cellars of Domaine Jacques Prieur.
A beautiful, approachable style, this young Puligny and elegant with flavors of peach, apricot and lemon.

"This is delicious already, with ripe yellow fruit flavors and layers of wood. There is a good tension between the sweet ripe fruit and the very textured acidity. For aging, but drinkable soon."
"A highly floral and white orchard fruit nose is trimmed in soft oak aromas that give way to rich, powerful, concentrated and delicious medium-bodied flavors that possess excellent volume if not the finesse of the Perrires yet the explosive finish is even longer and every bit as complex. As one would reasonably expect, this offers a different expression and in 2009 is a push in qualitative terms plus it should age equally well."

"Tasted out of barrel at the Domaine. This has a delicate nose with touches of lemon curd and crushed almond, a muted gravel scent emerging with continued aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with lime flower and peach on the entry, nicely balanced with peach, almond and grapefruit just on the finish. Very pretty."
