Vinification: The El Coto Rioja Rosé is a traditional blend of Tempranillo and Garnacha sourced from estate and other vineyards in the Rioja Alavesa. The wine sees a quick 48 hour maceration on the skins to extract flavor and color followed by a cold fermentation and bottling.
The wine has tangy, red cherry aromas with piquant herbal notes and ripe, juicy flavors on the palate. Cleansing acidity helps balance the fruit and helps the long, clean finish.

"The 2010 vintage is yet to be rated as we write, though for us it has been one of the best vintages to date, with a great balance among sugar concentration and phenolic ripening. A long winter and ample spring rain brought a good fertility to the vineyards. Summer temperatures were high, though the beginning of August brought them down, slowing down the ripening process. September brought good weather and cool nights, resulting in a vintage with good sugar levels and a very good phenolic ripening.
The color is a lively pale pink and the nose a display of strawberries and childhood candy. Dry and easy drinking it displays a wide range of red and dark fruits, strawberries, and cherries, sharp and crispy." -Victor Charcan

"We tried this pretty pink wine in one of our first gatherings as Swirl Girls a few years back. We loved it then, and we still love it now. The cotton candy-colored wine has a fresh and sweet nose of candied strawberry and raspberry. Its off dry with a nice acidity and a lot of ripe fruit. Definitely a people-pleaser, this wine is perfect for any casual get-together."

"Always a consistent rose from Rioja. The nose is candied but fresh and nice, while the palate is full but standard, with fresh plump melon, citrus and raspberry flavors. Finishes short and sturdy, with balance and good acidity."

"Nicely fruity with notes of watermelon and watermelon rind, with hints of banana, grapefruit and flowers. Zesty on entry and nicely light bodied with a good core of red cherry fruit. Theres a touch of mineral, adding some complexity on the palate and a lovely, almost stemmy, herbal tone on the back end. This is a bit simple but very friendly with a nicely fruity finish."
"A traditional Spanish blend of Tempranillo and Garnacha sourced from Rioja Alavesa vineyards, this particular vintage has excellent sugar levels due to an ideal sunny September with cool nights. The results are a light floral bouquet that showcases biting fruit along with ever so faint dry meadow grass. Opens up on the palate immediately with intense bramble fruit and no lingering alcohol after swallowing. My mouth wasnt burdened or laden down with tannins making it a surprisingly flavorful alternative to the classic Pinot Noir or Chianti pairing with pastas. Too lively with white fish but with pasta dishes like lasagna, masterfully summons the sauces garlic and basil undertones while enlivening the pasta noodles semolina essence. Definitely puts a spring in the step of heavier dishes."
