Vinification: The El Coto Rioja Rosé is a traditional blend of Tempranillo and Garnacha sourced from estate and other vineyards in the Rioja Alavesa. The wine sees a quick 48 hour maceration on the skins to extract flavor and color followed by a cold fermentation and bottling.
The wine has tangy, red cherry aromas with piquant herbal notes and ripe, juicy flavors on the palate. Cleansing acidity helps balance the fruit and helps the long, clean finish.
Bright pink color. The wine shows powerful strawberry and raspberry aromas and flavors. There is a marked expression of the grape varietals, with candied strawberries and violets, with hints of rose petal. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, refreshing and crisp fruit characters with subtle nuances.
Fragrant, with strawberry and floral notes, this delicate rose is light on the palate, yet the firm acidity provides backbone. Lively and expressive.
The El Coto de Rioja Rosado is a medium-bodied dry Ros wine from Rioja, Spain. The wine is a 50:50 blend of Tempranillo and Garnacha grapes offering delicious flavors of red fruit, primarily strawberry with underlying raspberry flavors on the palate culminating in a dry finish. This is an uncomplicated, food friendly wine that is both refreshing and crispperfectly suited for summer sipping. Excellent with grilled chicken, crab salad and corn on the cob.
Look for ross from Spain. [Among] my favorites: Spain El Coto Rioja Rosado. The El Coto is medium-bodied and superb with a tapas plate full of Manchego cheese, cured olives, Serrano ham, roasted peppers, and crusty bread.
