Terroir: Once again, Stephan Aviron is sourcing his Julienas from two well established growers in the appellation of Julienas. In both plots vines average over 50 years. Soils are also consistent and are made up primarily of granite stones, sand and chalk.
Vinification: Grapes are vinified separately until time for the final blending and bottling. The must is macerated in temperature controlled stainless steel vats for 12-15 days and then aged for 12-14 months in a combination of new and used oak casks.

Produced from two separate vineyards, the wine has all the concentration of old vines. It has tannins and dark fruits, blackberry and black plum. This is a finely structured cru wine that will need to age. Drink from 2020

Bright ruby-red. Bright and energetic on the nose, displaying intense red berry and floral pastille aromas and a peppery topnote. Juicy, sharply focused cherry and raspberry flavors take a turn to darker boysenberry with air and show very good clarity. Closes on an energetic note, with offering repeating cherry and pepper notes and good persistence.
