At Frederick Wildman and Sons, our portfolio is focused on great wines that are great values. Summer is here; a time to enjoy simple pleasures like lighter foods, relaxing with family and friends, and a glass of crisp, lip-smacking rosé. Like forest aromas of lavender or jasmine, rosé wines show a very expressive, fresh, airy bouquet to rouse your senses and lift your spirits. Rosés compliment loads of summer dishes like grilled chicken, fish, salads, wrapped sandwiches, tapas and panini. With sprightly berry aromas, clean flavors and zippy acidity in the mouth, rosés call for picnics, informal parties and casual dining, either at home, among the trees, or at the beach. While not problematic or intellectual, rosés are easy-drinking wines to enjoy with food or to sip by themselves.

A blend of 50% Grenache, 40% Cinsault and 10% Syrah, Jaboulet’s Côtes du Rhône Parallèle 45 Rosé 2008 shows floral and crushed red cherry aromas, with full, ripe, mineral-driven fruit on the palate, tangy undertones and a note of white pepper. The wine’s tart, fresh fruit gives the sensation of biting into a summer peach. This wine has acidity and structure that are firm; this is no wimpy rosé. This hearty wine is a winner every vintage and it sells for about $11-12. Wine&Spirits recently named this 'Best Buy.'

Jaboulet ‘Parallèle 45’ has built the Rhône’s reputation as the region producing the greatest values in French wine. Competing head-to-head with wines from France, Italy, Spain and the New World, ‘Parallèle 45’ earns a reputation as France’s greatest value red wine, year after year. The name comes from the 45th North parallel, which runs two kilometers from Jaboulet's cellars. In a nearby village, a monument reads: “Here begins the South.” The world’s greatest vineyards lie just north and south of this latitude. In the early 1950’s, the Jaboulet family named their Cotes du Rhône ‘Parallèle 45,’ a name synonymous with quality and value ever since.
