Very fresh with notes of sliced pears, lemons and white peaches plus a touch of white pepper spice and chamomile. It’s medium- to full-bodied with bright acidity and a phenolic touch. Dry. Blend of 33% gewurztraminer, 30% sylvaner, 17% pinot blanc, 7% riesling, 7% pinot gris and 6% muscat. Drink now.
Fun fact: The rules of Barbera d'Alba allow for up to 15% Nebbiolo to blend in! And guess what. The Ruvei Barbera does just that, which gives the wine even more bright freshness on both the nose and the palate. The wine is vibrant from the get-go with a basket of mixed berries—blue, black and red. The fruit is balanced by fresh purple flowers and savory spice. The palate is polished and has ample fruit at its core surrounded by earthy tones, bright acidity and fine tannins.
This lithe red's plum, almond and earth flavors are marshaled by bracing acidity. More meat on the bones would offset the acidity, but this should work well with salumi and cheeses. Barbera and Nebbiolo. Drink now through 2028. 12,500 cases made, 2,352 cases imported.
