Citra

Founded in 1973 when 3,000 small family growers united to form a winery dedicated to quality, Codice Citra represents the largest community of Abruzzo’s winegrowers and has earned a reputation for being one of the most important wineries in Abruzzo—one of the oldest wine regions in the world. Embracing nine wineries in the province of Chieti, Coda Citra is united by their respect for nature, a profound generational bond, full of affection and knowledge, and an ethical and productive genetic code.

Codice Citra’s sprawling vineyards are situated between the Adriatic Sea and the Majella Mountains, creating an ideal temperature and optimal microclimate conditions for ripening grapes. The success of Codice Citra is the result of the marriage between technology, control, and the competencies of the pioneering producer in Abruzzo with a commitment to quality, regional distinction, and the stewardship of the unique traditions of its 3,000-member community of family winegrowers.
