Compagnie Medocaine

About

Compagnie Medocaine

At the Compagnie Médocaine des Grands Crus, we pride ourselves on presenting a carefully chosen selection of exclusive wines. These wines come from wineries often unknown to the general public, hidden like rare pearls in the heart of prestigious regions. We aim to discover and establish privileged partnerships with these passionate winemakers. Together, we bring to light unique cuvées, subtle blends, and exceptional terroirs. Each bottle we select is the fruit of a rich history, know-how handed down from generation to generation, and an unshakeable passion for making the best wine possible. We want to share these stories with you so that each tasting is an adventure and a sensory journey into the world of wine.

History

Founded in 1975 by Jean Michel Cazes, owner of Châteaux Lynch-Bages and Omes de Pez, we are one of Bordeaux’s leading wine merchants, and have been an integral part of AXA Millésimes since 2001. Founded in the 1980 as a subsidiary of AXA, a major French insurance group, AXA Millésimes’ mission, in the words of its president Christian Seely, is “to invest in wine estates whose terroir potential is not fully realized by providing them with the material, human and financial resources needed to produce outstanding wines”. In less than 50 years, Compagnie Médocaine des Grands Crus has established itself as a key influence in Bordeaux Grands Crus trade, while consolidating its position in the distribution of French and international wines. We place particular emphasis on traditional distribution channels such as restaurants, hotels and wine shops, as well as quality wholesalers.
