Beaune 1er Cru Grèves Blanc 2018

Domaine Jacques Prieur

Terroir: The 1.3 acre Domaine Jacques Prieur parcel of 1er Cru Grèves sits on the slope overlooking the town of Beaune just west of the village. The vineyard faces southeast and produces both red and white wines of superior quality. Soils are made up primarily of small pebbles (Grèves), sand and clay leading to a wine of great elegance.

Vinification: Grapes are hand harvested strictly sorted and destemmed. The must will sit on the skins for 23 days prior to racking. The red and white Grèves both undergo 100% malolactic fermentation and 16 months of aging in oak barrels.

Additional Information

Luminous and green gold with silver reflections. Passion fruits, apricot, and vanilla notes on the nose. Very precise and subtle. On the palate, the wine is fresh, dense, smooth and lively at the same time, with lemon notes. Flavorful and tasty finish.

"The 2018 Beaune Grèves 1er Cru has a straitlaced bouquet of green apples and light orange peel aromas, just missing a little flair at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with a sappy entry, a fine bead of acidity, nice composure and a citric, effervescent finish that has good weight and depth."
