A passion for Riesling was the inspiration for a first ever joint venture between vintners from Germany and Italy.
In March of 2014, vintner Nik Weis from Weingut St. Urbans-Hof on the Mosel and Martin Foradori Hofstätter from Tenuta J. Hofstätter in Alto Adige grasped the welcome opportunity to launch their project on the Mosel.
A “Bock” is an ibex—a wild mountain goat in German, and “Stein” is a rock. The name is a play on words that recalls “Bockstein”, one of Dr. Fischer main single vineyards.
The grapes for this Riesling are sourced from selected vineyards exclusively in the Mosel Valley.
This Riesling is an outstanding introductory wine in the fabulous world of Mosel Riesling and the Prädikatswein from Dr. Fischer.
The wine is off-dry with 32g/l of sugar, very aromatic with great crisp acidity and a long finish.
