Pinot Noir Classic 2017

Famille Hugel

Pinot Noir now represents 8% of the total production of Alsace and with global warming the wines are steadily gaining in density.

Terroir: Pinot Noir accounts for just 8% of the overall Hugel production. The Pinot Noir Jubilee is sourced from the Pflostig Grand Cru, southeast of the village of Riquewihr.

Vinification: The grapes are taken in small tubs to the winery, they are 100% destemmed and macerated for 6 to 7 days. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is matured in vats until it is bottled in early summer the following year. The bottles are then aged in our cellars until released for sale. The whole production of this wine is closed with DIAM the cork without the risk of cork taint.

"This marries lively cherry and raspberry with plenty of savory and earthy character, packed into a rather sleek package with enough acidity to keep it fresh at the finish. Thanks to that balance and no oak, it is very food-friendly. Drink now."

"Lifted notes of fresh red cherry stream from the glass, with more than a hint of cherry candy. The palate of this wine is slender and fresh, with bright, almost bracing cherry tartness. This easy and fruit-driven Pinot Noir will also work well when chilled."
