Riunite

About

Riunite

All our wines, and especially our Lambrusco are renowned for being light, refreshing, and fizzy. Riunite enchants and delights Americans by bringing friends and families together and livening up occasions, big or small. While Riunite continues to be an approachable, everyday wine, we are also fervently committed to the environment. We are constantly undertaking efforts to reduce our carbon footprint, use renewable energy, and promote sustainability to preserve our planet.

History

Our story starts in the 1950s in the lush, poppy-covered region of Emilia-Romagna where nine wine producers joined forces to launch the Cantina Cooperative Riunite. Today, Riunite is still owned by 1500 families of vine growers, all passionate about the quality and journey of our products.

Farming Practices

Agriculture

Riunite is committed to sustainability and preserving the environment while producing high-quality wines. Our Lambrusco is crafted by a co-op of 1,450 independent winegrowing families who prioritize sustainable practices. With 29.5% certified organic grapes used in production and a 34% lower environmental impact compared to competitors, Riunite leads the way in eco-friendly winemaking in Emilia Romagna. Looking to the future, we aim to reduce our direct carbon footprint (Scope 1) by 50% by 2030, demonstrating our dedication to a greener planet.

The Winemaker

Iacopo Giannotti

One of his professors was Cesare Intrieri, dean of Viticulture and a great innovator who boasted several collaborations with universities around the world.

During his studies, outside of school, he began to gain experience that led him to collaborate with various wineries around Italy. Having graduated in February 2006, to further improve his training he went to Australia as an Assistant Oenologist in a winery in the state of Victoria.

Returning to Italy in September 2006, he has developed various work relationships in the Emilia area both in social wineries and in private companies ranging from winemaking activities to the refinement and bottling of wines. During these experiences he also collaborated with renowned consultants such as Luca d’Attoma. In 2008 he obtained a degree in “Viticulture and Oenology” which is useful for being able to define himself as an Oenologist. In 2019, he joined the Riunite and CIV group. In 2022, he was elected president of the Emilia section of the Italian Oenologists Association Assoenologi.
