The Feathery Blended Malt Scotch Whisky (NV)
The Feathery is a blended malt which has been entirely matured in first class sherry wood which makes it slightly sweeter, fuller and more rounded than standard malts. Aged 8-10 years and blended from 3 single malts: Tamdhu, Glengoyne and Glendronach.
The Feathery is the first expression of a range we are developing celebrating original Scottish craftsmanship. The Feathery is the original golf ball painstakingly hand crafted with feathers, tar and bird skin to make a perfectly rounded ball which was more streamlined and effective. The only downside is that it was also very expensive given the number of hours that went into one ball, when playing a game with a feathery the golfers would position two “spotters” who would ensure that the ball was never lost on the course.
Additional Information
Warm, rich oak, and deliciously sweet sherry flavored sultanas, orange segments, full mouth feel, raisins and soft fruits with a long and satisfying finish with spiced orange and chocolate with a hint of butterscotch.

Date: Friday, October 21, 2016Made from a blend of rare and old Highland malts, this tawny Scotch is earthy and complex. The aroma mixes baked apple, subtle smoke and toffee richness. The palate is relatively restrained, starting with unsweetened chocolate and campfire smoke that evolves into a smoky-spiced midpalate tinged with espresso. It finishes long, with subtle, earthy funk reminiscent of aged cheeses. The name refers to a predecessor of the golf ball, a leather hide stuffed with chicken feathers.Grade: Top 100 Spirits for 2016, #93 -

A gorgeous, unctuous mouthfeel with flavors spun around bright sparks of orange, dark toffee, and rich maltiness, melding to black cherry, stewed fruits, licorice, and charred oak. Named for the leather golf balls packed with goose feathers used in the early 19th century. Sink one for a birdie. From the bottlers of Sheep Dip."
