Odfjell wines come from a family-owned winery committed to making vibrant organic wines of the highest quality that express the unique personality of the vineyards by following principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture.

Terroir

Maule Valley, 170 m above sea level. The climate is temperate with a six-month
dry season and an annual rainfall of 700 mm. The high temperatures during the ripening period are moderated by cool breezes from the Pacific Ocean. The soil is sandy-clay loam with a presence of granite throughout the profile.

Vinification

The grapes were handpicked, and the bunches were destemmed but not
crushed. The whole berries then underwent a four-day cold maceration prior to
fermentation in 10,000-liter tanks using native yeasts, followed by a 10-day
post-fermentation maceration at 25ºC. Malolactic fermentation took
place spontaneously in tanks.

Tasting Notes

Deep and intense ruby color with a touch of violet. This wine displays a never ending mix of aromas such as cherry liqueur, liquorice, white fruit such as apricots, white peaches, pears and a touch of lychee. A note of jasmine to conclude a refreshing experience.

Food Pairing

Red meats. Barbeque, braised Lamb Shank with mint sauce and rustic potatoes, pulled pork sandwich with BBQ sauce.
