About

The Henry’s Keep blend honors the dedication and meticulous care that Henry Brandlin and his sons invested in cultivating the historic Mount Veeder vineyard, and commemorates the few bottles of wine they lovingly crafted for themselves using the finest vineyard parcels.

Terroir

Located high on the steep slopes of Mount Veeder, Brandlin Estate produces exceptional mountain grown wines. Our estate includes 49 acres of Napa Green Certified vineyard, located 900 to 1,250 feet above the fog line. Because of Mount Veeder’s mountainous terroir and location, our long growing season results in concentrated, perfectly ripened fruit. These intense grapes allow us to produce wines that express this rare and singular mountain site.

Vinification

Henrys Keep is aged 22 months in French oak (50% new).

Tasting Notes

Henry’s Keep offers a bouquet of elderberry, blackberry, violet and sandalwood that fuses intricately with notes of cinnamon, cacao and caramel on the palate. The finish is adorned by mouthcoating, silky tannins that complement the robust fruit of this intricate blend.

Perfect food pairings would be red meat like roasted beef and pasta with red sauce.

Blackberries, blackcurrants, peppercorns, tobacco leaves, tar, dried violets and mocha on the nose. Sweet spices, too. Full-bodied with firm, plush tannins and a succulent core of spiced dark fruit. Drink after 2023.
