About
Vina Del Pedregal family has been making wines since 1825 and in 1978 Alberto del Pedregal Aldunate created Carta Vieja. It has a long tradition; more than 42 years, which over time has been able to reinvent itself, as a timeless blend that brings tradition to the present.
Terroir
The soils are alluvial, with a depth ranging from 1.2 to 1.4 meters, and they have excellent drainage, both on the hillside slopes and in the foothill areas. This allows for absolutely controlled irrigation management, resulting in small berries with high concentrations of tannins, anthocyanins, and aromas. The soils are young, and being irrigated with water from the Maipo River, they have good fertility, allowing for balanced vineyards and high-quality grapes to be obtained.
Vinification
12 months in French oak barrils (50% first use, 50% second use)
Tasting Notes
It has a cherry red color with aromas of cassis, black cherry, coffee and spicy notes. In the mouth, it is concentrated and structured with ripe red fruit, toffee and chocolate. The tannins are firm and well integrated. Its finish is long and persistent.

General: Red meats, lamb, game meats. Intense cheeses. Specific: Ribeye, filet mignon, New York strip, lamb chops, aged cheddar, gruyere.
