About
ORIGIN is the House’s state of mind. A code in which the color indicates the grape variety, the letters express the terroir, the numbers illustrate the base years and the dosage. This modern approach affirms Valentin Leflaive’s desire to play on transparency.
Terroir
Le Mesnil Sur Oger Grand Cru. The average age of the vines is 20 years old. Chalk and flint soils with a South Southeast exposure. 150m above sea level. Sustainably grown
Vinification
The harvest is 100% manual. The pressing is fractional, (prunings are separated and eliminated). The wines are vinified in thermoregulated stainless-steel vats. 12% of reserve wine went into this cuvée.
Tasting Notes
This airy Champagne with light emerald reflections is characterized by a straight and precise nose where lime and tangerine are close to flint. Its fresh and harmonious mouth reveals the minerality of flint and chalk. Its long and salivating finish is punctuated by pleasant salinity.
