About
“GROSSI LAÜE” (great terroirs in the Alsatian dialect). These wines are a true return to the cultural and timeless values of the family with a deep anchoring in its historical terroirs. A very large Gewurztraminer which is already expressed but which will further gain in complexity 10 years and more.
Terroir
Coming from the heart of Sporen where we exploit the majority of the 4.84 hectares of the original terroir. Lias clay-marl soils, decalcified on the surface, very deep and exceptionally rich in phosphoric acid.
Vinification
Gravity-fed presses, without pumping or other manipulation.
After static settling for a few hours, the musts are transferred to tuns or vats where fermentation will take place with temperature control (from 18 to 24°C). A single racking before winter where the wine clarifies naturally without artificial cold treatment. Light filtration respectful of the wine before bottling in spring then aging in bottles in our cellars until it is put on sale.
All bottles were corked with DIAM the cork without cork taste.
Tasting Notes
Always young, intense color with shades of light green, lime leaf, straw yellow, lemon yellow, with a beautiful burst of slightly silvery shine. A very tight, velvety, slender leg. Open bouquet, engaging, spontaneous, elegantly aromatic and fragrant, very harmonious, smooth blend, perfectly typical of the Gewurztraminer grape variety with aromas of roses, fresia, hawthorn, jasmine, mignonette, lychee, pineapple, citron, flower honey, delicately spicy, cardamom, white pepper, while being fresh and beautiful elegance. On the palate the contact is of a freshness, subtle and invigorating which underlines a temperament, generous, ample, tender, suave, juicy very expressive, joyful, almost airy and refreshing full of aromas, fair and refined.
Food Pairing
Pairs well with tasty and slightly spicy dishes. Monkfish with saffron, beef, lamb with paprika, spicy and strong cheeses. Game pheasant, partridge, roast pork, roast duck, fruit tart.
