The soil is orange ochre in color and rich both in clay and in limestone. The limestone helps drainage and absorbs heat during the day, releasing it to the vines at night. This parcel has three different soils; 1. At the top: ostrea acuminata marl. A predominantly light soil, fairly rich in clay. 2. In the middle: rocks and pebbles. 3. At the bottom: silt, more clay and lots of loose limestone.

The Domaine’s winemaking methods have changed very little since its first harvest. The same rigor in monitoring the fermentation stages remains in place.
