Kreos is Castello Monad’s only rosé. Kreos is a very versatile, stylish wine with marked acidity. The name recalls the Greek myth of Eos, goddess of the dawn, called “the rosy-fingered goddess” by Homer due to the visual effect of the sky at sunrise.

Terroir

The vineyards of this hot, arid region are made up of dry gravelly soils of limestone and clay forcing the vines deep for nourishment and leading to very low yields and concentrated wines.

Vinification

The Castello Monaci Kreos Rosato comes from the heart of Italy’s rosé production region of Apulia. The vineyards of this hot, arid region are made up of dry gravelly soils of limestone and clay.

Tasting Notes

Kreos, with its intense vivid pink color, gets its name from “Eos”, the Greek goddess of dawn, whom Homer called “the rosy-fingered goddess.” Kreos emanates a bouquet of flowers, cherries, and raspberries that are prevalent in its elegant flavor as well. It has a tangy and earthy finish, with hints of nougat which lingers on the palate.
