About

The Barbera grapes for Nizza Vineari are harvested by hand around mid-September from vineyards located in the municipalities of Castelnuovo Calcea and Agliano Terme using sustainable practices. The wine created is characterized by great structure and a strong flavor impact

Terroir

The grapes come from our vineyards located in the municipalities of Castelnuovo Calcea and Agliano Terme. Here we find soil characterized by a marked compactness due to the abundant presence of red clays.

Vinification

The grapes, harvested by hand around mid-September, arrive in the cellar and are immediately destemmed and pressed. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 26°C; Subsequently, a maceration on the skins takes place for approximately 8 days, aimed at extracting the polyphenolic compounds (tannins and colour) and aromatic substances. After this phase, the wine is subjected to some decanting to obtain gradual clarification in preparation for the aging phase in wood

Tasting Notes

The color is intense purple red with violet reflections. The nose is complex, with persuasive notes of plum and berries that fill the sense of smell. It closes with a pleasant finish with hints of pastry. The taste is lively and enveloping, with a notable alcoholic structure supported by a balanced acidity.

Food Pairing

It pairs well with typical Langhe appetizers like veal with tuna sauce and vegetable flan and with first courses with rich sauces and second courses of meat. It also enhances traditional minestrone soups and is an ideal companion for toma and moderately aged hard cheeses.

This wine opens with aromas of black cherry, cassis, wildflowers, and sweet and savory spices. Vibrant and lifted on the palate with a red-fruit-driven palate supported by dried herbs, anise and black tea. The wine finishes with fine tannins and mouth-watering acidity.

Notes of ripe blackberries and brambles with dark chocolate, licorice and walnut undertones. Full and creamy with succulence and depth to the fruit and a compact tannin structure. Refined and lingering. Drink or hold.
