About

Ca’Brione is an alpine white wine born in 1986. The soil’s geological origins go back to the time when the African and European plates collided so forming the Alps. The great variety of rock thus caused lends both minerality and elegance to the wine.

Terroir

The vineyards are south-, south-east, and south-west facing lying at altitudes of between 900 and 1600 feet above the sea level. The type of soil features shallow, sandy loam with low fertility, contained by dry-stone wall terraces.

Vinification

The earlier ripening Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay grapes are harvested in late September and placed into wooden crates where they will dry until the Incrocio Manzoni and Nebbiolo are harvested in early October. Vinification is carried out separately for each varietal with a gentle pressing and fermentation, followed by aging in a combination of 50% new and 50% used oak barriques. After eight months in barrel the wine is blended and bottled. 18,000 bottles produced.

Tasting Notes

The wine has a deep, golden color and fresh aromas of exotic fruit, spices and a note of musk. The wine is full, balanced and elegant on the palate, with finishing notes of fruit and vanilla.
