This delightful rosé, blended from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, is based on a venerable Bordeaux wine type called “Clairet” which gave us, in English, the nick name for Bordeaux, Claret.
Darker and with more substance than most rosé wines but still charmingly fresh and lively on the palate, this is a classic rosé and a delicious wine for all meals served out of doors or in warm weather.
Easy to drink, it is to be enjoyed young on all occasions and served chilled. A fitting pre-dinner drink, it is also an ideal accompaniment to appetizers, cold meat platters, white and grilled meat, not to mention salads and desserts.

"Medium red (!). Cherry, redcurrant and gingerbread on the nose. Fleshy and broad but dry, offering chewy red berry and bitter cherry flavors and a touch of candied rose. Finishes with good length and peppery bite, repeating the gingerbread note. This is a very traditional style of Bordeaux that barely exists anymore and straddles the line between rose and red wine; it would be great with a roasted chicken or a mushroom-based dish."
