The versatile, affordable, village Chablis from Domaine Christian Moreau Pere et Fils is bright and crisp, with the classic, taut structure and refreshing minerality that define traditional Chablis. This is a Moreau classic!
Vinification: The winemaking techniques strive to honor the high quality of the terroir, vines and grapes, bringing out the very best in every harvest.
All equipment, from the trailers used to transport the grape harvest to the vats themselves, has been carefully selected so that each parcel of land can be worked separately. All harvesting is done exclusively by hand from the Petit Chablis up to the Grands Crus.
The 2012 Chablis is a ripe, yet bone dry Chardonnay with crisp green apple, mineral and a touch of saline.

"The 2012 Chablis is striking. Bright, focused and impeccably layered, the 2012 is a beautiful wine to drink now and over the next handful of years. Crushed rocks, pears and white flowers all resonate on the brilliant, precise finish."

"Pale, bright yellow. Wet stone and oyster-shell minerality on the nose. Densely packed, bright and tangy, showing good mineral verve to the soft citrus and white pepper flavors. This persistent village wine is more classic and less exotic than it appeared to be a year ago."

"Rich, yet with fine cut, framing apple, lemon and melon flavors. A chalky intensity leaves a puckering sensation, but the mineral element lingers. Give this time to settle down. Best from 2016 through 2024."
"Christian and Fabien Moreau make some of the most intense and pure-tasting wines in Chablis right now. This basic bottle -technically from Les Parques parcel in the village of Chablis- is the quintessence of green wine, full of struck stones, lemon zest, pea shoots and green apple."
"The hallmarks of a classic Chablis are apparent in the basic bottling from first-rate producer Christian Moreau, crisp and clean with a taut acidity it's thoroughly delicious and a great buy!"

"A more classic nose features green fruit, oyster shell and iodine scents. There is good detail and punch to the lightly mineral-inflected middle weight flavors that possess moderate depth but fine persistence and balance. A lovely villages."

"Bottled a few weeks before my June tasting, the generic Moreau 2012 Chablis displays tart-edged but succulent apple, white peach and white currant wreathed in wintergreen, its tartness harnessed to juicy refreshment and displaying an unmistakable if subtle expression of salt, stone and iodine characteristic of its genre. The sense of lift even at nearly 13% alcohol, a figure typical for the Moreaus vintage collection, but on the high side for wines of this vintage delightfully complements the cooling, downright thirst-quenching character of this fine value and remarkably eloquent exemplar of its modest appellation. Enjoy through 2015. "
