Summary

Domaine Faiveley combines the principles of modern winemaking methods with the time honored traditions that have been practiced for centuries within their 19th century cellars. Each terroir and each vintage, benefits from special attention which makes the cuvées unique. Each bottle therefore becomes the faithful reflection of its terroir.

Terroir: Joseph Faiveley Bourgogne Blanc is is sourced from vineyards throughout Burgundy.

Vinification: The Bourgogne Blanc is vinified at cold temperatures in stainless steel tank. The wine is aged in the cellars for 8 to 10 months with about 30% of the final blend seeing time in new and used oak.

Vintage Notes

"A brilliant pale yellow colour with green glimmers. The very nice expressive nose has white flower scents. The attack is bold and generous. This wine, which is balanced on the palate, has good volume and quite exceptional long-lasting scents and tastes for this appellation."

    "I cant speak too highly of the 2008 vintage in Burgundy for white wines. Even at the most basic level, Bourgogne Blanc, like this one, they show character and class. In less good years, this category of wine suffers from under ripeness and astringency. But 2008 gave the wines destined for Bourgogne Blanc added ripeness without sacrificing bracing acidity. Couple that with a fine producer, such as Faiveley, and you have a well-priced introduction to white Burgundy. Not an opulent California Chardonnay, Faiveleys Bourgogne Blanc has verve and an engaging restrained creaminess. Its perfect for current consumption with roast chicken."
