Terroir: The 4.2 acre Domaine Jacques Prieur parcel of 1er Cru Greves sits on the slope overlooking the town of Beaune just west of the village. The vineyard faces southeast and produces both red and white wines of superior quality. Soils are made up primarily of small pebbles (Greves), sand and clay leading to a wine of great elegance.
Vinification: Grapes are hand harvested strictly sorted and destemmed. The must will sit on the skins for 23 days prior to racking. The red and white Greves both undergo 100% malolactic fermentation and 16 months of aging in oak barrels.

"Fleshy yet light-footed, this rich red boasts tangy black cherry, smoke and vanilla flavors. Balanced and long, revealing a mineral accent on the firm finish. Best from 2015 through 2021. 15 cases imported."
"Good bright dark red. Black cherry, spices and minerals on the nose, lifted by a violet note. Juicy, firm and tightly wound, with dark berry and black cherry flavors supported by a firm tannic spine. A savory wine with no easy sweetness, but boasts a nice balance of fruit and minerality and displays solid structure for the year."
