"Dense, with black cherry and blackberry flavors accented by spice hints, imparting a chalky, minerally sensation. This is firm now, but the finish extends with a mix of fruit, spice and stone notes. Best from 2017 through 2028."

"Moderately saturated bright, full red. Pure, complex nose offers scents of black cherry, redcurrant, crushed stone, menthol, mint and spices, along with a pronounced floral quality. An attractive soil-driven midweight, showing more savory spices than primary fruit in the mouth today and a thickness that comes from the clay-based soil. Finishes with a salty element and building tannins that dust the entire palate. Less sweet than the last few wines, and in need of further elevage. Gublin noted that this grand cru probably will not be bottled until June."
