Terroir: Coming from 3 parcels totaling 1 ha, the different vineyards ensure a nice balance between fruit and minerality. All grapes come from granite soils of the prestigious lieu-dits “Les Rivoires”, “Les Eyguets” and “La Grande” The appellation’s narrow terraces are generally composed of granite and “arzelle”: a mixture of decomposed granite, mica, shale, and clay that gives Condrieu wines their fruity aromas of peaches and apricots. The average age of vines is 25 years.
Vinification: Severe pruning, leaf plucking, and if necessary a green harvest, to ensure low yields of healthy ripe grapes (AOC authorizes 44hl/ha but Bonserine averages 30-35 hl/ha.) Hand-harvested and sorted three times to select only the best grapes. Every parcel is vinified separately and fermentation triggered by its own wild yeast. The yeast present naturally on the skin helps the terroir to express itself. At Bonserine, the philosophy is to work "as naturally as possible", both in the vineyard and in the cellar. All vineyard work is conducted following sustainable practices; in all its vineyard farming, no herbicides, chemicals or pesticides are employed. Short maceration on the skins before pressing, then fermentation in new light toast 600 litre French oak "demi-muids" with temperature control. Ageing 7-10 months in the same demi-muids.
The Viognier grape is perfectly at home here, producing a wine that is rich, smooth and supple but also deliciously fresh. Highly perfumed, it showcases floral aromas, backed by notes of apricot and exotic fruits. The palate is long, with fine minerality. Medium-bodied, the wine has a good concentration and a fresh, focused, elegant style. It will evolve in the next 4-5 years.
2015 vintage: The Spring of 2015 was rainy and hot. The Summer was dry with high temperatures. These conditions make 2015 one of the hottest vintage of the last decades!
Pairing: Excellent as an aperitif wine, you can enjoy this wine with foie gras, scallops, goat cheese, etc.

(fermented and aged in new oak demi-muids for 9 months) Light bright yellow. Orange zest, nectarine, violet and smoky mineral aromas show very good clarity and pick up a hint of vanilla with air. Sappy and lively on the palate, offering nicely delineated orchard and pit fruit flavors, complemented by notes of candied ginger and lemon pith that add refreshing cut. Closes on a lingering floral note, delivering solid thrust and very good persistence.

Starting with the Condrieu, notes of pineapple, apricot and flowers as well as a beautiful powdered rock-like quality emerge from the 2015 Condrieu. This medium, to full-bodied, rich, pure and elegant beauty has plenty of fruit, yet stays fresh and lively.
