Always fresh and crisp on the palate with notes of citrus and pear. This is a great value white perfect for seafood and salads.
The 2013 El Coto de Rioja Blanco is pale gold-yellow with greenish hues, the wine is intensely aromatic, well balanced, with body and the fruit has a refreshing tart character. Pleasant acidity combines perfectly with an exquisite aftertaste of flowers, fruit and fine herbs.

"Bright straw. Lemon zest, pear and melon on the fruit-driven nose. Pliant and on the warm side, offering plump orchard and pit fruit flavors and a hint of bitter quinine. Closes smooth and gently spicy, with a hint of honey."
"Yes, the arrival of Labor Day is a symbolic adis to summer but the thermometer tells a very different story. Savor the steamy days of September with a chilled glass of El Coto de Rioja Blanco 2013 - white wine from Spain. Straightforward and sassy, this affordable wine ($11) is crafted from 100% Viura grapes that have been fermented in stainless steel - the absence of oak really allows the zesty notes of the Viura to shine through. Beautifully aromatic, notes of citrus and pear with just the right amount of acidity make this crisp sip a refreshing treat on a hot day. It paired beautifully with my avocado salad and El Coto de Rioja Blanco would be really tasty with seafood. So, the next person who tells me that summer is over will be told,"Be quiet and sip some Rioja!"
