The Maximo Tempranillo is a fresh, fruit-driven red sourced from vineyards in the La Mancha region of central Spain. The fruit is fermented in stainless steel tanks and macerated on the skins for 12 days to enhance its fresh, fruit-forward character. The wine is aged for 6 months in combination of French and American oak barrels.
Maximo Tempranillo shows aromas of plums and red berries with tobacco and vanilla notes. In the mouth, the wine has a vibrant, velvety and sweet character, with easy drinking red fruit and licorice and mint traces, and soft tannins. It is easy drinking, and is a perfect match for tapas, as well as red meat dishes and roast lamb.

"Dusty plum and black cherry aromas feature a touch of dry oak. Tight, snappy and properly tannic in the mouth, with full berry, baked plum and background spice flavors. Finishes with control and power; good red wine for the price"

"There are 6000 cases of the 2009 Maximo Tempranillo, sourced from the obscure DO of Vina de la Tierra de Castilla located within La Mancha. The wine spent 6 months in American oak but it barely registers. It emerges from the glass with sophisticated aromas of spice box, incense, violets, and black cherry that are well above its class. This pleasure-bent offering is an excellent value that will prove to be be a crowd-pleaser over the next 4 years."
