Hecht & Bannier Bandol Rosé 2015

The Hecht Bannier Bandol is a rosé for fall and winter, based on nearly 60% of Mourvedre, the wine is complex, with more structure than a traditional rosé in Provence. This is a wine of great, even exquisite, finesse which, unlike many rose wines, will age beautifully in bottle. Young, the wine offers the aroma and flavor of blood orange and dried apricot. With bottle age, after five years, the wine will gain in richness, power and depth.

Terroir: Sourced from Mourvedre grown in the finest, coolest and latest-ripening sites of the Bandol appellation.

Additional Details edit

"In Aix-en-Provence, we pair this wine with typical provençal dishes: fresh grilled tuna and bottarga, gently fried zucchini flowers or perhaps a puree of chickpeas with spring garlic and saffron or a fritto misto." —Gregory Hecht

Lightly orange pink in color, this ripe wine has the attractive perfumed character of Mourvdre that dominates the blend. It has ripe orange and spice flavors as well as red-currant fruitiness. With its structure, the wine is full, ripe and could well age further. Drink now and until 2019.

Bright orange-pink. Fresh red berries and white flowers on the fragrant, mineral-tinged nose. Juicy and focused, offering lively strawberry, orange zest and honeysuckle flavors that deepen on the back half. Finishes silky and gently sweet, with good cling and an echo of bitter citrus pith.

Lively, with a savory streak holding a prominent position while white cherry, peach and blood orange notes fill in. Offers stony cut on the finish.

The light pink colored 2015 Bandol Ros is a fresh, lively, slightly fleeting effort that gives up pretty notes of watermelon, rose petal and citrus blossom. Nicely balanced on the palate, with integrated acidity, it's ideal for drinking over the coming summer.
