Terroir: The Morgon Cote du Py is Stéphane Aviron's most structured, earthy wine, and can age wonderfully for as much as ten years. The grapes are sourced from the slopes of an 1150-foot inactive volcano that is regarded as one of the top terroirs in all of Beaujolais. Vines face due south on a well pitched hillside of pour sandy soil.
Vinification: Grapes are vinified separately until time for the final blending and bottling. The must is macerated in temperature controlled stainless steel vats for 12-15 days and then aged for 12 months in a combination of new and used oak casks.

The Cote du Py, one of the best cru vineyard sites in Beaujolais, is on the slope of a 3,000-foot extinct volcano. It produces structured wines that can age well. Stephane Aviron brought out the quality of Py with a wine that is powerful, ripe and dense with considerable tannic structure. It will certainly need to age, so drink from 2019.

Floral and peach aromas line the ripe strawberry and cherry flavors in this concentrated, harmonious red. Backed by plenty of spice and juicy acidity, this eases into a lingering, spice- and mineral-infused finish. Drink now through 2018.
