Olivier Leflaive Frères

Olivier Leflaive Frères Puligny-Montrachet 2019

About

Puligny-Montrachet (pronounced Mont-Rachet) shares with Chassagne-Montrachet the most perfect expression of chardonnay. Just a few meters from the Grands Crus, the Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée established in 1937 offers a white wine with a strong personality and high reputation. The vines are mainly planted on limestone soil, sometimes deep or on hard rock.

Terroir

This A.O.C. is at the bottom of the hill, on a brown soil from the North of Meursault to the South of Chassagne.

Vinification

The grapes are grown sustainably in calcareous clay soil. 100% manual harvest. 100% Chardonnay. 100% whole grapes. 24h static settling. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentations in oak barrels. 18 months ( 6 months in stainless steel tank) 100% in oak barrels (20% new oak)

Tasting Notes

This wine is distinguished by its floral lightness and a clear directness that does not fail to instantly captivate. This wine presents a perfect equation between mineral sobriety and delicate generosity, creating a tasting that is both elegant and entertaining. The finale is of great caliber.
