Olivier Leflaive Frères Puligny-Montrachet Enseignères 2022

About

Puligny-Montrachet (pronounced Mont-Rachet) shares with Chassagne-Montrachet the most perfect expression of chardonnay. Just a few meters from the Grands Crus, the Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée established in 1937 offers a white wine with a strong personality and high reputation. The vines are mainly planted on limestone soil, sometimes deep or on hard rock.

Terroir

A whole of four plots scattered on the terroir located below les Grands Crus of Batard and Bienvenues Batard. This terroir is considered as the richest and the most powerful of its category. Blend of several plots with a brown soil on a limestone flagstone.

Vinification

The grapes are grown sustainably in calcareous clay soil. 100% manual harvest. 100% Chardonnay. 100% whole grapes. 24h static settling. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentations in oak barrels. 18 months ( 6 months in stainless steel tank) 100% in oak barrels (20% new oak)

Tasting Notes

This wine is characterized by its delicate nose, with a mouth that awakens the taste buds with its salivating side. The floral and citrus notes create a delicate framework, offering a chewy sensation in the mouth.
