Olivier Leflaive Frères

Olivier Leflaive Frères Meursault 1er Cru Le Porusot - Récolte du Domaine 2022

About

Disappeared in the depths of the soil near Nuits-Saint-Georges, the hard Comblanchien limestone reappears here while going south, we leave the red wines to visit the whites. These excellent vineyard lands were developed by the monks of Cîteaux as early as 1098. The Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée was established in 1937. Meursault also produces a small quantity of red wine. The most beautiful terrain is located around 260 meters altitude, with an exposure that slants from east to south.

Terroir

Porusots has one part of Dessus (above) with rocks, deep faults on a clayey red soil. The part of Dessous (below) gives powerful and generous wines.

Vinification

The grapes are grown following HVE (High Environmental Value, level 3) standards in calcareous clay soil. 100% manual harvest. 100% Chardonnay. 100% whole grapes, 24h static settling. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in oak barrels. 18 months ( 6 months in stainless steel tank) 100% in oak barrels ( 25% of new oak)

Tasting Notes

Wine with power on the nose and on the palate. We find fruity, pastry and brioche notes. The palate is deep and full with remarkable aromatic persistence. Very nice wine.

Food Pairing

A pretty bottle to pair with poached lobster and mixed vegetables or cauliflower cream with caviar or even Epoisses.
